In the early hours of the next morning the police arrested the accused on the Taradale road, near Napier, when they stopped to repair a tyre. Witnesses' description of the car in which the men made off and plaster casts of the wheel tracks tallied with the car in which the accused were arrested. They wore remanded for sentence.
