"THE NEW MOON." BOX PLAN ARRANGEMENTS. The box plana will bo opened at Tho Bristol on Thursday morning at nine o'clock for the production season of "The New Moon," J. C. Williamson's picturesque romantic comic opera which is to be staged her© for the first time on Saturday nest in tho Theatre Royal. Anticipating a large demand the management will have a staff of ushers in attendance at the box office from an early hour, so that the earliest arrivals may be assured of first choice of seats. Realising that at the present juncture theatrical entertainment must be of a very high standard because of the opposition of the "talkies," tho J. C. Williamson, Ltd., management will stage "The New Moon" here, on the same scale of magnificence as when it created a furore of enthusiasm in Sydney and Melbourne. The cast has beeq. selected with care and it is said that the company comprises the best all round organisation of singers, artists, comedians, and dancers which has ever appeared here in any one production. The authors of "The New Moon" state they have built their play out of incidents in the life of Robert Misson, a French aristocrat of revolutionary tendencies in the days of Louis XVI. Interwoven into the play are some genuinely humorous comedy scenes which are in the capable hands of the popular comedian Mr Jim Gerald. The heroine is Miss Romola Hansen, who made herself a notable actress and singer in "Tho Desert Song," and the hero is Sidney Burchell, a talented young actor and singer. Herbert Browne has on former occasions, notably in "The Student Prince," delighted with hia rich and clear tenor voice, and it is said he has a good singing part in that of Phiilippe. Others in the cast are John Ralston, Leo Darnton, Don Nicol, and Amy Rochelle. The music of "The New Moon" is much above the average heard in comic opera, and the ensembles and the ballets are features of the production. A large operatic orchestra is under the baton of Willie Redstone.
