NORTH BEACH.

- General. As a result of the heavy rains a few weeks since, there is still a good deal of water Jying on low tections. In order to avoid trouble from mosquitoes these section will require to be tilled up or the pool floated with kerosene. The Nelson street end of the Norton street track has been badly broken up by the drays carting sand from Kawhiti Domain for the approaches to the Sea View road bridge. Owing to the illness of Mrs Betty Sneesby, who was organising the children's national concert, in aid of the funds of the Peace Memorial Hall, the arrangements for the concert have been suspended. The large poleß for the Tramway Board's trolley-bus service are being erected along both sides of Bowhill road, which will shortly look like the "valley of giants." The lay-out of a balloon loop on the Esplanade at the end of Bowhill road is causing much concern to residents, as it will fender this corner very dangerous to traffic going north or south. Mr and Mrs J. Teale and family, of Marriott's road, after several years' residence at North Beach, have re» moved to Merivale.
