ALLEGED ARSON.
ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. ' (PRB3B ASSOCIATION TKI.EQSIAiI.) NAPIER, September 19. The sequel to the burglary and tire in the Club sample rooms, Herachell street, Napier, on July 19th, wag heard in the Magistrate's Court to-day, when John Lee Aston and Mary Bridget O'Neil were committed for trial on charges pf arson, breaking and entering, and theft. The evidence showed that fires were Started in several different places m the sample rooms, and goods were disarranged. Several witnesses gave evidence that the male accused approached them and offered *or sale clothing similar to that stolen. The police stated that a search of the cottage in which the two accused lived resulted in the finding of certain goods similar to those stolen, and two price tickets found in the woman's box were identified by the occupier of tho sample rooms. Both accused denied knowledge of the prime. * A witness called for the defence said he slept at accused's house on the night ot the fire, and that no one could have left without rousinor him. In view of.this counsel contended that accused could only be charged with receiving ' However, the Justices committed them for trial on all three charges.
