HOUSEBREAKING.
£4/5/- IN CASH TAKEN. The sum of £4 5s in cash was stolen by a houßebreaker who entered' the dwelling of Mr J.B.Dowling, 53 Hinau street, Lower Riccarton, on Thursday evening. The robbery occurred between 7.30 and 9.30 o'clock, when Mr Dowling and his family were temporarily away from home. Returning, they found that a fanlight over the front door had been broken, and it was evident that the burglar had entered the house this way. Prom a drawer £4 had been taken, and a further 5s had been removed from a box. There was nothing to indicate' that a great search of the house had been made.
