+ Social. The members of the variety stall of the forthcoming St. Mary's flower show hold a social aud dance in the schoolroom. There was an excellent attendance, and a very enjoyable time vbb spent. Items were given by Mrs Priddv (recitations) and Mrs Watt (601158). The Monte Carlo wait! was won by Mr W. Nixon and Miss M. Harper, and the lucky-spot by Mr Rrooks and partner. Music was supplied by Miss L. Bloom, and extras were played by Mrs Loney, Mr Ogilvio was M.C. Personal. Mr Seddon Wyman, eon of Mr and Mrs T. Wyman (Smith street), left on Wednesday for Wellington, en route to Samoa, "where he has obtained an appointment. Cricket. The second annual meeting o£ the Heathcote Cricket Club was held on Wednesday, Mr Brooks presiding. The balance-sheet showed that the year hart proved satisfactory from a financial point of view, there being a balance of £lO lis in tho bank. The secretary reported _ that the club had played 14 matches during the year, 8 of which were won, 5 lost, and 1 drawn. Tho best batting average was obtained by M. Collier, aud the best bowling average by T. Carey. It was decidod to enter a team m the third grade competition*. The election of officers resulted; —President, Mr Jas. Young; vice-president, Mr J. Connolly; honorary vice-presidents, Messrs C. Flavell, J. Round, P. Park, L. H. Hawker, A. T. Robertson, F. R. EUon. J. Morgan, T. n. Williams, Loney, L, B. Adams, L. Salt, McFarlane, Radley and Frampton; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. B. Newton; captain, Mr M. Collier; vice-captiiin, Mr J. Young; auditor, Mr E. Davison; custodian, Mr H. Perkins; committee, Messrs H. Clark, A. Truscott, W. Truscott, T. Hay, J. Perkins, and P. Prooks.
