OXFORD. i A meeting of the General Committee of the Oxford A. and P. Association was held, when the president (Mr J. T. Croy) presided. It was decided to hold the annual meeting in October, and to receive nominations for the General Committee up to September 18th. A letter was received from the North Canterbury Jersey Cattle Club, in regard to providing adequate prizes for cattle. —It was decided to favourably consider the matter. In regard to the proposal to remove the embargo on the importation of cattle from Great Britain at the end of the year, a resolution was carried, that while the committee would like to see the embargo lifted, this should be delayed until immunity from disease was certain. It was decided to support the. Canterbury Agricultural College in its demand that the Government shoold complete its agreement to lease an area of 100 acres i from the College, for experimental purI poses.
