♦ —; DOMINION EXECUTIVE. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGHAU.) WELLINGTON, September 4. The Dominion Executive of the Order of St. John met this morning. There were present the Hon Sir 11. Heat on Rhodes (president) and the tollowing representatives:—Auckland; Mr C. J. Tanks; New Plymouth: Mrs K. Preston, Wanganui: Messrs J. J. Esson and G. H. B. Sleight; Wellington: Dr. J. S. Elliott and Mr R. O. Richardson; Canterbury and West Coast: Mr F. B. Creswell and Dr. F. H. Borrie; Dunedin: Drs. A. It. Falconer and L. A. Line; Invercargill: Mr J. W. Jack and the Rev. G. E. Moreton; District Nursing Guild of St. John- Mrs M. E. L. Stace, and the hon. secretary, Mr C. S. Falconer.

The annual report, showing a large increase of work done, was read and adopted. Discussions took place regarding the i/ommandery, which had been granted l>y his Majesty the King, safety education, extension of nursing activities, and centenary celebrations. Health Activities. Regarding co-operation with the National Health Organisation, the following motion was carried: "That in view oi the desirability which exists in any countrv to co-ordinate and unify the activities of various voluntary health organisations with the functions of official health and hospital authorities, the standing committee be asked to furnish a report to the next meetin" of the executive as to how this may be best promoted in New Zealand." Dr. Falconer gave an interesting account of the National Health Council of New York, which co-ordinates the activities of the national, official, and voluntary health agencies in America so that duplication is avoided and efficiency promoted The work of this organisation is considered to be one of the most important steps taken in the field of public health in recent vears. Dispute With Ked Cross. It was also agreed, "That the Dominion Executive of the Order of St. John in New Zealand thanks the joint Council of the Order of St. John and British Lied Cross Society in England for their painstaking interest in seeking to arrive at a reasonable solution of the problem that has arisen in New Zealand, and considers that the - decision in their letter of June 19th, 1930, should be adopted.".
