ACCIDENTS.
ARM AMPUTATED. i [j-iixsa i-ssociATios txlegjuk ) INVERCARGILL, July 17. Louis Smith, aged seventeen, employed in the "Southland Times" office, had his right arm crushed through being caught in a rotary press machine. The arm had to be amputated above the wfist. INJURIES PROVE FATAL. John Engleflekl, who was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital on Monday as a result of falling off a scaffold at Messrs Johnson and Smith, motorbuilders, died late last night. He was unconscious when admitted, and died without regaining consciousness. Englefield was a middle-aged man. residing in Mary street, Papanui.
