POULTRY SHOW.

NORTH CANTERBURY. The annual show of the North Canterbury Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Club was opened in the Drill Hall, Rangiora, yesterday. Although the entries are slightly under those of last year, the quality of the birds was very fine, and the competition in the different classes keen. Besides the classes for poultry, pigeons, and canaries, which carry tho largest number of entries, there are sections for garden produce, cookery, fancy work, and art. These are all well represented. Thoro are four championships. Iu the White Plymouth Rock open class Mr F. Loffhagen won the championship with a very fine bird. The Black Orpington nwle utility class championship was won by jtfr H P. Roderick. There was no award made in the pigeon championship. The cats will bu judged to-day, and in this section the entries are in excess of 'last year. Special comment was made at the excellent staging of the poultry. The Rangiora High School are again miking a good display of grain, seeds, and roots from their experimental plots. The president (Mr F. ®. Mirtyn) and the secretary (Mr A. llawklhs) have spared no pains to make the show a SUCThe following are the results:— POULTRY. (Judge: Mt 0. Bundy.) Geese—Gander (3) s T. Watson 1, Mrs J. L.
