ALLEGED THEFT.
SEVERAL CHARGES PREFERRED.
(FEEB9 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 3. The sequel to a cross-country chase and an arrest by Detective Kearney was the appearance in. Court to-day of George Albert Hedley Nixon, aged 34, on live charges. The charges were that he was found on the New Plymouth Golf Club's premises without lawful excuse; theft of £1 from Thomas Wilson, theft at Hawera of £5 the property of W. O 'Callaghan, a member of the Golf Club; the theft at Hawera of £4, the property of William Batchelor, and the theft at Takapuna, Auckland, of an assortment of clothing and fancy articles valued at £ll lis 6d, the property of Leonice Eliza Wiseman. A remand till Wednesday was granted. Further charges are pending in connexion with the Hawera golf links, and also at Auckland.
