ACCESS TO SEA.
SECRETARY TO COMMISSION APPOINTED. The executive set up by the Access to the Sea Conference of local bodies is making financial arrangements to meet the cost of the Commission, which is to open in Christchurch on the 26th inst. Application will be made shortly to the local bodies, which have promised to give financial assistance in order that a fund to meet the cost of the Commission can be established. The Government has been written to on. the, subject of the financial arrangements for the Commission. Mr A. H. Holmes, formerly for many years Registrar of the Supreme Court at Christchurch, has been appomtedsecretary to the Commission. Mr Holmes has had experience on several big commissions.
