COST OF LIVING.
HOUSEHOLD BUDGETS. As was announced towards the end of last year, the Government Statistician, Mr M. Eraser, .has sought-the assistance of the Workers' Education Association throughout the Dominion in the matter of enrolling those willing to participate in the competition for prizes, aggregating £IOO, offered by the Government in connexion with the keeping of household budgets. The secretary of the Canterbury District of the W.E.A., Mr George Manning, has just received from the Government Statistician a copy of the Householder's Diary Account Book, to be used in the competition. Already several Christchurch have intimated to Mr Manning their willingness to enter the, competition, and he will be glad to receive the names, of others. As soon as the list is complete it will be forwarded to the Government Statistician, who will supply each of the competitors with a copy of the diary account book, which gives full particulars of the competition.
