W.E.A. ACTIVITIES.
——-♦ ARRANGEMENT FOR THIS YEAR'S CLASSES. The .executive of the Canterbury District Council of the W.E.A. met on Wednesday evening and discussed arrangements for this year's session, the list of classes, and details of activities being approved. It was decided to make the following recommendation to the District -Council:—That a class in botany and New Zealand horticulture be added to the list, and that the co-operation of the Horticultural Society be sought in the work of this class. The secretary (Mr George Manning) was instructed to write to the Trades and Labour Council, and to all trades unions asking them to co-operate in formulation of a scheme to organise the study of international relations as provided for under the will of the late Mrs Ensom. In addition to the classes held last year classes in international relations, and in Esperanto will be held this year. ' - It was decided to obtain an enlarged photograph of the late Dr. Chilton and place it in a prominent position in the W.E.A. Rooms. The unveiling ceremony is to take place at. the opening function of year's session. A list- of suggested lectures in respect of the Saturday evening popular lectures was submitted.
