The case of a blind man and his wife and family, who had come to Christchurch from Dunedin { was discussed, and the man in question waited up°® the committee an<3 explained the kind of business in which be would like tne committee to assist him to engage. He favoured a merry-go-round as the occupation from which he would most likely get an assured living. Failing a merry-go-round, he would like to have a skating rink. It was finally decided that a sub-committee consisting of Messrs. Holland McEldowney should deal with tne application. . Mr Holland reported that he had called upon the Commissioner of Crown Lands in regard to the suggested exchange of the home property in Christchurch of a blind soldier for a property in Auckland.
