The secretary of the Grey district Acclimatisation Society at Greymouth has been advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that the protection on deer in the Grey acclimatisation district has been removed.

Lyttelton Social Club. About 200 excursionists arrived yesterday in the Lyttelton Social Club's excursion to Lake Mahinnpua. A number detrained at Greymouth and joined the train on its return from the south.

Exports for the Month. A return of exports from Greymouth for the four weeks ended December 7th gives the following particulars: —Coal, State mines S9SO tons. Blackball 1327, Paparoa 947, Dobson 7090, Castle Point .".n. Wallsend 3330, other mines 1497; timber, 4.090.500 super feet.

Railway Passengers. Two hundred and thirty-seven passengers, including about forty from Wcstport, left by yesterday's express for Christehureh. The number travelling to the West Coast from Christchurch was 259.
