AEROPLANE BURNED.
TWO OCCUPANTS HAVE NARROW ESCAPES. i (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—EI ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH —COPYRIGHT.) (Received December 26th, 10.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 26. While taking off in a choppy wind from the Urunga Golf Links to-day, a Gipsy Moth aeroplane crashed and was burned. The owner and pilot, Menzies, and a friend, Walters, who was a passenger, had a narrow escape. Menzies got free, but Walters was rescued with difficulty, as splashing petrol from the tank took fire and burned fiercely. Both men suffered slight burns.
