TOKYO, December 26
The dismissal of 250 hands at the General Motor Works, Osaka, led to trouble at the Godo mills. This was settled by large grants being made to those dismissed.
The Osaka management maintains that the understanding was that as the wages were high, men could be dismissed without notice. The men formed a special union and threatened to cause a general strike. The American staff is nervous, and is refraining from appearing in public.
