CONCRETE HOUSES.
♦ A COMPARISON WITH BRICK.
Mr J.'. A. Campbell, late Professor of Civil Engineering at Canterbury College, speaking at the extension lectures to farmers, conducted by Lincoln College, last night, expressed the opinion that the concrete house would ultimately replace the brick house. "Would you advocate building concrete houses now instead of brick houses?" asked a questioner. '•Yes, I would,''said Mr Campbell. 'T think the concrete house is going to replace the brick house in time, especially in Christenureh. One did not "et cracks in the plaster in a concrete house. It cost very little more than a, timber house, and it should last forever." He had not, he said, heard any .•emplaints that they were damp to live in if a cavity was left, in the wall.
