Mr Rov.etl reported upon enquiries he hud made in regard to the supply of current to residents of Lincoln, where the Tai Tapu Dairy Company had a license to distribute electricity. He understood that the company would not sell part of its reticulation, hut would bn prepared to sell the whole cf it. He had been g-iven to understand that a representative of the company had taken a petition round Lincoln for sign** tures and that incorrect statement* had been made concerning the Power Board's rates. Consumers were led to believe that the Board's rates for heating were much higher than the flat rate charged by the company. A petition signed by ten residents of Lincoln <raa received, requesting the Board to supply them with current. Mr Rowel] supersted asking the company to sell its Lincoln reticulation to 'he Roard. On the motion of Mr Masinncss, it was agreed that the Board should snproucb the Tai Tapu Dairy Company to ascertain whether it would sell part or the who'e of 'ts reticulation. Messrs Hunt and Ma'-'inncsa reported having discussed with Mr T. Glen the prospect of running a line to serve Holleston. Nothing definite had been placed before them. It was a question of being assured of enough revenue to warrant the erction of the line. Thev could not see the revenue in sight. It was acrrced that the engineer should advise Mt Glen of the. position, eaqplaining the conditions under which extensions were made by the Board. The. chairman stated that the contractor for the building of the new offices expected them to be ready for occupation about ths middle of next month. Mr D. Jones, M.P., acknowledged a letter asking him to assist in connexion with a dispute between the Board and the Railway Department regarding an account for running a line to serve a railway cottage at Dunsandel. He promised to do his best for the Board.

It was agreed that the engineer should accompany Mr Maginnese, delegate from the Board to the Electric Supply Authorities conference in Wellington. The Malvern Power Board wrote that it had no objection to the Board running a line to serve Mr A. f. Chamberlain, Norwood, whose property is in the Malvern power district, though "too far distant from the Malvern licea to be reached by the Power Board there.

The Paparua County Council applied to have seven street lights erected at Hornby, and complained of the charge made for street lighting, £t a lamp. The. Waimairi County Council, it was stated, charged a lower rates for street lamps. There was a good deal of dissatisfaction amongst consumers generallv over *he charges, and it ■was suggested that the whole schedule shonld be revised. . The Board decided to hold a special matting to go fully into the question of charge* for current.
