CHINA'S FIRST AIR MAIL.
INAUGURATED BY BRITISH OFFICER. (UJTITBP PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY BLECTBIC TELEGRAPH—COPYBIGHT.) SHANGHAI, July 8. China's first air mail line became an actuality this afternoon when a flight by Captain Henderson, tormer R.A.F. fiver, from Shanghai to Nanking, was successfully carried out. He used a five-passenger Stinson-Jetroiter ma-c-lime. Captain Henderson took off at noon on the inaugural flight with 400 pounds of mails, and reached Nanking shortly before 2 o'clock, returning in the evening and bringing mail. Four well-known British and American aviators are here awaiting the Nanking Government's orders to commence regular flights. The establishment of the air mail is the first of the Nntionalists' many high-sounding schemes to become a reality, and marks an important chapter in China's history.—Australian Press Association.
