QUESTIONS ANSWERED. EVACUATION OF KHINELAND. (PSITISB OT7ICIAI. WIRELESS.) KUGBY, July 8. Answering questions in Parliament a to the date of the withdrawal of th British troops from the Khineland, M Arthur Henderson, Foreign Secretar, said that the Government wer anxious that the evacuation sho-uli take place at the earliest moment, bu would regret if it had to be taken b; degrees or stages. Their aim would b to co-operate with the French and Bel gian Governments in effecting com plete and simultaneous evacuation. The Prime Minister, replying to s Parliamentary question, said that the Government's policy regarding the Singapore naval base was under consideration, and an announcement would be nddfr as early as possible. All matters germane to the subject, including the purely commercial purposes to which the naval base could be put, would be considered. Indian Commission. The Secretary for India, Captain Wedgwood Benn, stated in the House of Commons that he could not give the exact date that he expected to receive the report of the Statutory Commission on Indian Reforms. He did not anticipate that the report would be received before the end of the year. Trades Union Rules. Mr Mac Donald said that it was not proposed to appoint a committee to consider the effect of the restriction caused by trades union rules upon trade and unemployment. Airship 8100. In answer to a question Mr F. Montague, Under-Secretary to the Air Ministry, stated that the inflation of Airship RIOO would begin at the end of July. The inflation and shed trials would occupy two months. Mr Noel Buxton, Minister for Agriculture, said the Government had rejected the project to purchase British meat for the Forces for a portion of the year on the ground of the probable effect on prices to the public. Any benefit to agriculture would not be commensurate with the expense involved. DOMINION REPRESENTATION. (Eeceived July 10th, 12.50 a.m.) LONDON, July 9. Britain has invited the Dominions to have full representation at the Reparations Conference. Accordingly Mr Mac Donald last week sent out an invitation to the Dominions to appoint representatives for the forthcoming Young Plan Conference. Official circles to-day said the Dominions will undoubtedly be represented, as they were at the Peace and Dawes Conferences. —United Service.
