BAPTIST CLUB.
The Baptist Harrier Club held their usual weekly run over a twelve-mile course from the residence of Mr P. Miles, Woodham road, lifnwood. The trail, which was laid by A. Miles. W. Haynes, and Gibson, kept mostly to the roads, and led through Shirley, Burwood, Wainoni. and back to Linwood. Of the fast pack, A. Park was first, C. Jones second, and R. S. Odell third. A. Baigent led in the intermediate pack, while M. Foate, Ratcliffe, and W. Kagle came in in. that order in the slow pack. Seventeen runners competed.
VOSSELER SHIELD. (PKZS3 ASSOCIATION TBLEGRAV.) _ WELLINGTON, July 6. In thy Yosseier Shield contest for combined harrier clubs, over a ten-mile course, there were 92 starters, of which 79 completed the course. Results were: Brooklyn (199 points) 1, Wellington 2, Olympic 3, Hutt "Valley 4, Scottish 5. Individual results: A. L. Stevens (scr) (Scottish), 65min 31 i-B bbc, 1; J. Shepherd (Wellington), 2; J. Bibby (Brooklyn), 3. Won by 250 yards; Bibby 73 yards further away.
