CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The Ckristchuroh Harrier Club's run to Saturday was held from the residence of Mr and Mrs C. P. Crimp, Sandwich road, Ueckenhata. A road race over a course of about oeven miles was held, in order to guide the selector in picking the teams for tKo Temuka to Tiroaru road race next faturdar. J. McKce and K. McKco were the trail-layers, and they did their job well. At the start Austin and Jackson took l.h« !ead, but Jackson soon dropped back, Austin coins on in front for about a mile. Then ho was caught by Barnes, the pair going on in front. Paccoe, Barrer. and Jackaon were following in a bunch about thirty yards behind. Tho other members of the club who are not going to Timaru he'd an ordinary run over the same course. L. A.. Eeid was the first to finish. Mr and Mtb Crimp enteriainsd the runners at afternoon tea., Mr C. G. Mahan. club captain, returned thanks on behalf of the club. The teams for next Satur-laj have been announced by the selector (Mr J. McKee): No. 1 Team—C. G. Mahan (captain), J. G. Barnes, G. 1.. Außtin, J. D. Paseoe, B. A. Barrer, ard E. C. Jackson. No 2 Team—H. Cookson (captain), J. W. McLean, R. J. Hyde, W. V. Dromgooie, E. H. Shirley, and E. Knight. No. 3 Team —E. A. Saycrs R. Smith, H. Carter, C. 15. Boyd, W. K, Olliver, and J. K. Martin. A combined run at the New Brighton racecourse will be held next week for those runners who are not going to Timaru. The bus for the Timaru trip leaves Warner's Hotel at 8.13 a.m.
