It ia understood that a Board of Enquiry is being appointed to investigate contracts for the building of aeroplanes for the Defence Department in connexion with which M. L. Shepherd, secretary of tha Australian Defcne® Department, has been suspended. The enquiry is likely to be protracted, pending the return of Colonel Brinamead, head of the Department, who is visiting the United States.— Australian Press Association.
