THE GALE'S HAVOC.
DISTRESS IN MINING TOWN. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTEIC TELEGRAPH—COPYKIOHT.) LONDON, November 27. The gale caused terrible distress in the colliery town of Blaina, Monmouthshire, where 46 per cent, of the employable persons are unemployed. The roofs of 400 houses were blown off, and the homes of 700 people are thus uninhabitable. Hundreds of houses are flooded out. The total damage is £so,ooo.—Australian Press Association.
