CANBERRA, November. 28At a meeting of the Australian Newspaper Conference, a resolution was passed that, in view of the reductions in cable charges which followed first, the inauguration of the Pacific cahle, and, secondly, upon the functioning of heam wireless, it be now urged that, before Australia becomes a partner in the wireless merger, provision should be made under which the people of the Commonwealth will be assured of further reductions, which should become possible with .the development, of the beam system.—Australian Press Association.
