FLOCK HOUSE.

ANNUAL MEETING OF FUND. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELKQBAM.) "WELLINGTON, November 28. The annual meeting of the Board of the New Zealand Sheepowners' Acknowledgment of Debt to British Seamen Fund was held to-daj\ The Hon. Mr Newman presided. Although it might appear somewhat premature to,'deal with, the future ot the fund, the chairman said, because, in all probability,, for at least five or six years longer, they would be able to receive the boys and girls coming within the scope of the fund, he desired to allude to Mr L. S. Amery s suggestion to conserve the organisation, with the present methods and ideals, for all vouthi'ul British immigrants, irrespective of their fathers', services In view of Lord Lovat's more recent .visit, he had cabled the High Commissioner asking how much longer they might expect to get boys and girls who came rightly under the terms of the fund. The reply was that by 1933 the number would be substantially reduced, so that a year or two after that date thev would probably cease altogether, "it was clear that some new arrangements would have to be made in regard to the fund and buildings. He had a feeling that Flock House should remain as one for the relief of seamen in some shape or. form, and Lord Jellicoe had written supporting this view. Mr G. M. Luke endorsed Mr Newman's remarks in regard to the success of the Flock House scheme, and urged the claims 6f those who, although not wounded or incapacitated in the war, were in need of assistance. Mr L. O. H. Tripp said that lie had gone into the legal position, and it was quite clear that there was full authority to deal with such cases.

Tho report and balance-sheet were adopted. Mr Newman was re-elected chairman of the board. , Hearty votes of thanks accorded the various staffs.
