GAME DRAWN.
RAIN PREVENTS PLAY.
(TOITBD PEESB ASBOCIATIOX— BT EtECTBIO TELEOSAPH —COPTBIGHT.) (Received November sth, 8.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, November 5. On account of light rain the resumption of the match England v. Victoria was delayed until noon. The captains inspected the ground at 2.5 p.m. The wicket was good, as it had been covered, but the ground was too soft around the wicket. At 3.15 the captains again inspected the ground, but disagreed. It was still raining at 4 p.m. and the umpires then decided that there would be no play, and declared the game drawn.—Australian Press Association.
