GOLFING SENSATION.
PLAYERS FORCED TO RESIGN.
(UNITED PBE3S ASSOCIATION—3T ELECTBIO TELEGRAPH— COPTBIOHT.) LONDON, November 4. A sensation has been caused in London golf circles owing to the compulsory resignation of two members of a loading club, who allegedly returned faked score cards.
The "Dispatch" says that they usually played together in competitions, one of the other often winning. This aroused doubts, because it was remarked that, they could not produce the same form in' private matches. The suspicions were conveyed to the committee, which had the men secretly watched in a recent competition, in which one returned a winning score, which the watchers declared was not actuallv a record of the strokes played. It also is reported one of the men improved the lie of his ball. The club captain interviewed them privately, and compelled their resignations.—united Service.
