CHRISTCHURCH STOCK EXCHANGE.

The volume of business recorded on the Stock Exchange on Saturday was not large, but markets were firm with movements for the most part in favour of holders. lc the stock and bond section, no sales were recorded and quotations showed little change on Friday's prices. In~the banking section, a parcel of Bank o: Adelaide sold at £9 sa, buyers staying in at that price, sellers asking £) 5a 6d. Commercial Bank of Australia had turnover of 800 shares at 27s lOd, market closing buvers 27a lOd, sellers 27$ lid. Australian Bank of Commerce were fractionally weaker on sellers' quotes 33s lOd, buyers at o3s <d. Other stocks in this section held at late iatos. In the miscellaneous investment section, New Zealand Insurance shares were bought at 41b, and more were available at that lisure, buyers at 40s 9d. Staples Brewery shares changed hands at 37s 4d, and J uore were on offer at that price, buyers at 37s 3d Tooths Brewery advanced to dealings at 47s with further demand at that price, pollers asking 47s 6d. £o& was given for a parcel of Colonial Sugars.
