MOTOR VEHICLES ACT.
IMPORTANT SUPREME COURT DECISION. (press association telbgham.) TIMAIiU, November 6. At the Supreme Court, Mr Justice Adams heard a case in which the Timaru Borough Council claimed that the South Canterbury Power Board's two motor-lorries should be subject to tax under the motor-lorry regulations. The Board contended that their lorries were not subject to the tax, because they were not "commercial" vehicles. Tho case was gone into exhaustively, and finally his Honour, after quoting numerous authorities, upheld the Power Board's view, and gave costs against the Borough Council.
