THE TRAMWAYS.
—_-♦ COST OF ADMINISTRATION. Answering a question at the meeting of tho Citizens' Association on Friday night, at which tramway matters were discussed, the chairman of the Board, Mr A. S. Taylor, remarked that the Board's administrative costs were the lowest in the Dominion. It is interesting to notice that as compared with 1914 the Board's administrative costs as contrasted with its total expenditure under all heads showed a decrease during the year ended March 31st, 1927.
The administrative and other general expenses in 1914 were Seven per cent, of the Board's total expenditure, while in 192'?, on the same basis of comparison, they were 4.7 per cent.
