RECHABITE LODGE.

■ ♦—"7" In the year 1877 the D.0.R., the late Brother J. T. Smith, on July 4th, opened in Christchurch the first Kochabite Tent—The Pride of Christchurch Tent. This week it is celebrating its jubilee, and the celebrations commenced on Sunday, .when a church parade of the members was held at the Church of Christ, Moorhouse avenue. The Rev. Bro. G. H. Earle, before giving his address, congratulated the Tent on attaining its jubilee, and for upholding the ideals of Rechabitism. A vocal solo was contributed by Mrs W. A. Bascand. • On Monday evening the jubileo Tent meeting was held in the Y.M.C.A. Concert Hall. The Chief Ruler, Bro. T. Nuttjill, presided over a large number of visitors and members-. He welcomed the District Officers who were present, and invited them to occupy toe official positions for the meeting. The invitation was accepted, and District Treasurer Bro. W. Johnston returned thanks on behalf ot the. district officers, and Prov. C.R. Bro. J. \>- Butcher, on behalf of the Provincial Council. The prizes in connexion with the membership campaign were awarded to Bros. T. Long, 0. H. Bascand, E. T. Prisk, and T. West. Letters of congratulation were received fr° m the Canterbury Provincial Council, the Hope of Dunedin Tent, Wanganui Tent, Arch Of Refuge Tent, Richmond Tent, Philipson Tent, Adult and Juvenile Tents, District D.R. Bro. A. Martin, District Guardian F. B. Clark, and Bro. G. Mullan, of the Glasgow Tent, Scotland. District R. Sister E. Kennedy_announced that the Pride of Christchurch Tent had won the challenge shield and the Sisters banner. The installation of the officers for the ensuing half-year was performed by the District O.R. Sis. E. Kennedy, assisted by Bro. A. Martin and District Secretary Bro. T. Fathers as installing Levites. Items were given during the evening by Misses Dalmer, Musgrove, Cobley, and the Tent's Orchestra, under the baton of Bro. H. Edwards, P.C.B.
