PAPANUI DOMAIN BOARD.
The first meeting of the new Papapal Domain Board was held , last night in the Waimairi Council Chambers. There were preont: Messrs W. J. Walter, C. 6. Dewett, H. Tillman, F. W- Sisson, J. Kunro, g. Kruse, J. b. Carington, and R. J. Sharpe, Mr I". W. Sisson was appointed chairman. A-vote of thanks was carried to the retiring members of the Board. ■ Considerable disenssion took place regarding the future policy of the Board. .Mr C. G. Derrett said. the . Board . could not do anything without money. He suggested that the Waimairi. County Council should be approached for a grant.- If they could show some improvement there was no doubt the public would support them.
It was decided that the Board meet' the Waimairi County Council as a deputation to ask for a grant to provide suitable fencing and other improvements, the Board in tie meantime to inspect the ground. The use of the ground was granted to .the Waimairi Rugby Football Club during the football season.
