Selby, who has been visiting her sislor, Mrs G. Webster, High street, left this morning for Auckland. Mr P. Blanchfield returned from Christcliurch by to-day's express. Miss A. McOinley returned this afternoon from Christcliurch. Mr G. A. K. Simmers, AssistantDistrict Railway Engineer, accompanied by Mrs Simmers and family, arrived from Christcliurch this afternoon. Mr Simmers is visiting Greymouth ill connexion with the erection of tho locomotive roundhouse at Flmcr lane. Ho will reside in Greymouth for tho next two months. Mr J. Parker arrived from Timaru this afternoon on a visit to his parents, Mr and Mrs J. Parker, of tho Railway Hotel, Greymouth. Amongst the inward passengers by today's cxpresn wcro Mrs W. J. Grcy-Barrytown Boad. The slips caused by tho recent heavy rains on the Grcy-Barrytown road have been cleared to enable the resumption of traflic. Tho Weather. Following a few misty showers this morning the weather cleared before noon, and bright, sunny conditions prevailed this afternoon. Schools' Excursion. The Hokitikn schools' excursion to the Seven Mile took place to-day. Two trains conveyed about 300 excursionists to the seaside resort, where au enjoy-

A motor-car driven by Mr Lambert, of Wnltham, Christcliurch, collided with tho Itunanga Co-operative Society's lorry, driven by Mr L. Jackson, at a street intersection in Runanga yesterday evening. Tho lamp and mudguard of tlio car and the side of the lorry wcro damaged, but Mo one was injured. Dunollie Accident. YV'hilo assisting at Dunollio in the transportation of the air compressor for the Dobson mine, Mi W. Warburton, superintendent of boring operations for the Mines Department, had a leg broken. Mr Warburton was taken to the Grey Hospital. His condition is reported to be satisfactory.
