MAN KILLED.
•COLLAPSE OF BRICK WALL. (PRESS ASSOCUTIO* TELEGBAH.) AUCKLAND, September 20. The sudden fall of' about four tons of bricks in the wall of an old building at the back of Masefield's Foundry, in Chapel square, resulted in John Keane, aged 37, of Puriri street, Freeman's Bay, being killed instantaneously this morning. . ... Keane, who was a married man witn four children, was employed on a contract with his brother in demolishing part of a building which was gutted by fire some time ago, and is in a bad state of repair. The two men were knocking bricks off a thick wall at. the Albert street end of the building. The greater part of the wall had been razed, and while Keane was working at the base in one part, the whole section caved in without warning, and crashed down on top of him. The unfortunate man was pinned beneath a huge pile of bricks and mortar, and death was instantaneous. . it , , . * The work of extracting the body took some time.
