POPPY DAY.
♦ SUCCESSFUL APPEAL. There were few people' in the streets of the City yesterday who did not carry in the lapels of their coats a scarlet poppy for remembrance. The annual "Poppy Day" appeal is for funds for the relief of unemployment among returned'' sdldidfs, and it always meets with.a generous response. Yesterday the energetic collectors were stationed at all the main corners in tho City, and tho work they did ensured a good collection. The final result of the collection waS £650, .with several amounts to come in. ( _____ AT DUNEDIN. \ (PBEBS ASSOCIATION TXUfOBUCS.) DUNEDIN, April 23. Poppy Day here waß a great success, and last year's excellent total was exceeded by almost £IOO, with country boxes yet to come. To-day's total was £630!
