MEETING OF DIRECTORS, The monthly meeting of the Board of Direc* tors of the Y.M.O.A. was attended by Messrs A. F.-Carey ' (president), J. I. Hoyds, A. Borrows, D. B.,£arton, P. H. Sandall,' J. W. Hillary,'S. Wilkinson, A. E. G. Lyttle, and the general secretary. Apologies were received, from. Messrs A. W. Beaven, W. Goss, S. L. Partridge, J. MacDougall, and A. M. West. . . , A full report of the recent campaign was presented, and a resolution was carried ex-, pressing the thanks of the Association to all who had rendered assistance, and to the com- - munity as ■a' whole. The • total to date in cash and promises was given as £3200, including Street Day £337, church collections £7l, and Rangiora contribution £4l. It was stated that other contributions were expected, A list of 249 new members was tabled. ■ The activities of tho various departments wore shown to be increasing,-with. every indication of further., growth. Reports wero tabled giving plans for extension work, especially in the direction of gymnasium classes and boys' clubs in .co-operation with tho churches. Special reference was made to the visit of Dr. John R. Mott from May Ist to 4th. It was decided that the annual meeting of the Association be held on Monday, May 3rd, and that there should be a membership dinner, with Dr.' Mott as the special speaker. At the request of. the National Committee, it was agreed that the forthcoming National Convention should be in "Wellington, as a convenience to 'delegates from the north. The date suggested for the Convention was in the first weok of June.
