SYDENHAM METHODIST CHURCH.
WELCOME TO NEW MINISTER, The members and adherent«.of the Sydenham Methodist Church tendered a welcome social to the Rot. H. J. Odell and Mrs Odell, Mr Odell being the newly-appointed minister to the Sydenham circuit. 'Mr S.Maddren presided over the gathering. Addresses and fraternal greetings to Mr and Mre Odell were given by Eev. Canon Mutter, of St. Saviour's Church, Eev. J. K. Archer, of the Baptist Church,' and the Eev.' W. Hay, of the Durham - street; Methodist Church. 'Apologies from' several other local ; ministers were received. On behalf of the Sydenham Methodist Church, Messrs G. B. Kollinson, Boy Wear, J. A. Black, and A. Hulbert extended the hand of goodwill and welcome to Mr and Mrs Odell, expressing the hope that their stay in the Sydenham circuit would, be a happy one, and that success would attend their labours. Mr and Mn Odell suitably returned thanks. A short programme of musical items was given during the evening. The ladies of the congregation provided an excellent supper, during which Mr and Mrs Odell took the opportunity of making the acquaintance !of those present, A most enjoyable evening was brought to a close by the singing of the Doxology. • ,
