BLOWN UP.
MEN KILLED IN QUARRY EXPLOSION. (BT CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPTBIGHT.) (AUSTEALIAN i-ND K.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION., 1 (Received November 26th, 11.50- p.m.) SYDNEY, November 26. An accident at Phillips' stone quarry, Bankstown, resulted in two men being killed outright, and three others so severely injured that they w'll probably succumb. The son of tho quarryowner was ramming a charge, when a terrific explosion occurred. Claude Burton and Jack "Whymon, both of Lidcombe, were blown fifty feet in the air, and their bodies horribly mutilated. Tho injured are Morgan Jones, of Cabramatta, Allan Phillips, of Bankstown, and Arthur O'Brien, address unknown. They are suffering from broken limbs, and hardly a portion of their faces was undamaged. The ambulance men describe the spectacle as the 'worst they have ever seen. Phillips succumbed to his injuries an hour after his admission to the hospital.
