AQUATICS.
OPENING OF BOATING SEASON. The boating season will be officially opened to-morrow. A. procession of decorated boats -will leave the Fitzgerald avenue bridge at 2.30 p.m., and -ivill proceed as far as StanmoTO bridge. It will then Teturn and assemble in front of the Christ's College bostbouse, . where the commodore. Mr P. I, Cowliaharr, will formally declare the season opened. Prizes ■will be awarded to the best decorated boats, most original crew, and best Darktown crew. Afternoon tea -will be dispensed at the boathouses, and the "Woolstoij Band will be in attendance. The fallowing crews will compote in interclub four-oar and double-sculling races after the procession:— Fours—First heat: Canterbury No. 1, P. JT. Brown, C. a. Morris, H. B. Godfrey, and C. H. Clemens v. Union, A. E. Baker, W. L. Whittington, A. Rogers, and L. 0. Byers. Second heat: Canterbury N'o. 2, M. C. buddon, C. L. Bacon, J. S. Reid, and N, Walker v. Avon. H. E. Stil€3,- E. Heatley, L. J. "Webb, and J. Brixton. ' Double Sculls—First heat. Avon No. 1, C. A. Stiles, and D. McGibbon v. Union, H. l/ Bush and V. Greenway. Second heat: Avon £io. 2 W. Palmer and H. Brixton v. Canterbury, C. Blundell and R. P. Batchelor. The proceedings will close in the evening when there will be dances at the boathousas7'
