- * —- CONCILIATION COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS. At the Conciliation Council proceedings in the Canterbury Brick, Pottery, Pipe, and Clay ■Workers' Union's dispute, a complete agreement me reached. Mr W, H.- Hagger, Conciliation. Commissioner, presided. Tha employers' assessors were Messrs W. Cecil Prime, T. W■ Woodroffe, and J. M. Nicholls. Messrs H. Worrall, J. Higgin3, and P. Egaa were assessors for the Union. The employers submitted the existing award as their counter-claims. The rates of pay for overtime 'were fixed at time and a half for the first three hours, and' double timo thereafter. The following holidays were agreed on: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Labour Day, Show Day, Annual Picnic Day, Christmas Day, Boxings Day. Work done on Sundays, Christmas Day, and Good Friday will be paid for at double rates, and on other holidays at time and a half. After a year's service, ltilnburoera will receive a week's holiday oij full pay. After difjcuafljcm, it was derided that the hours of work pliould be as in the present award: —18 hours a week, to bo worked between 7.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. on five days, and between 7.30 a.m. and noon on Saturday. The Union had asked for a 4-1-hour •week. Wages wore agreed to ns follows:—All adult workers employed in, or about brick and pottery works, not less than la lOd per hour, with the following additional sums ii the cases of th,e particular workers mentioned:— Flanger.'i and moulders, 411 per hour; stickers and finishing' burners, 3d per hour; setters, drawere, and clay fillers, Id p« t hour. Wages of kiln burners, not less than Is 9Jd per hour. Youths: Under 18 years, 30s per week; 18 to 19 years, 40s per week; 19 to 20 years, £2 15s per week; thereafter as for adults. Agreement was reaohed on the other matters in dispute. It was agreed that the award should takeeffect' on November 6th, 1925, and remain in force for two years. The parties congratulated Mr Hagger on having effected a complete agreement. '
