HURUNUI RABBIT TRUSTEES.
TO THIS EDITOB OF "THE PBESS." Sir,—We all know that any public position is one that carries very little thanks, however good the intentions of those doing the work. The late Hurunui Rabbit Trustees got. themselves into disfavour, and a majority of the ratepayers decided to elect a new Board, which at the present time, owing to the steps they anticipate taking, are also getting into the same position. I would suggest tho present Board calling a meeting at Hawarden of all the ratepayers interested, and explaining their reasons for the steps they are taking, and let the ratepayers decide whether they are taking the right steps or not. If said meeting is called, it is the duty of every ratepayer to attend, and to give tho Board every assistance, and to try and solve the best method of dealing with the rabbit question, otherwise the rabbits will soon become master of the situation. —Yours, etc., D. SIDEY. Hawarden, September 12th. TO THE EDITOR OF "THE TRESS." . Sir, —Tho rabbit seeks fresh pastures, and the Hurunui Rabbit Board legal advice. Tho Board are appar-i ently attempting to embark on a policy which means equal distribution of the pest. Lenin applied this same policy to wealth in Russia, and he was certainly eminently successful in driving capital out of his country. It does I not follow, however, that the rabbit will respond., like the rouble. The Board will find that if it persists in its foolishness, like unto the loaves and fishes of Biblical story, bunny will in-I crease faster than they can distribute j him.—Yours, etc., RATEPAYER No. 3.
