BOWLING.
KAIAfOI CLUB. The twenty-third annual meetiuj* of tho Kaiapoi Bowling Club was held on Thursday evening, Dr. M. Ramsay presiding over a good attendance o£ members. The roport stated that the past season had been a most successful one, and that the club had had a record membership. Extensive improvements had been carried out to the green and tho pavilion. Tho balancesheet showed that the club was in a sound financial position, the balance of assets over liabilities being £217, as against an average of £BS for the two previous years. The bal-ance-sheet showing a debit balance of £1 9s 6d, was adopted. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Hon. 1). Buddo, M.P.; president, Mr H. Wilson; vice-presidents, Messrs E. E. Papprill and W. C. Tourell; secretary and treasurer, Mr XI. W. Childs; auditor, Mr W. (.!. Clarko; green superintendent, Mr T. 0. Butcher; general committee, Messrs J. G. Yellowlces, J. B. AVylio and W. H. Clements; selection committee, Messrs F. L. Parnham, H. Wilson, and Dr. M. Ramsay; delegates to the Centre, Mr Jj. B. Evans. Several new members -"'era elected. The medals given by tho lato Mr Richard Wylio for the club's championship doubles were won by J. G. Yellowlees and E. Monk. With tho object of perpetuatiag the memory of tho late Mr Wylio," it was decided to institute a Wylio memorial trophy for doubles, to bo played for annually. Regarding the inter-club competitions, it was decided to instruct the Centre delegate to support three rinks championship and three rinks pennant games for the coming season. It was resolved to hold the official opening day on Saturday, October 10th. Votes of thanks were accorded tho retiring officers and to the ladies for thoiv assistance to the club during the past season.
