The annual dance of the Trinity Club was held in the I.yttelton Club " a "'_ and a most enjoyable evening was spent b> members and thrir friends. Yesterday the "West Lvttelton school broke Ul> for tho term holidays. Tlie more serious work ended in the morning. To mark the close of the term, a delightful little concert was held in the afternoon in the largest loom. Several of the parents also attended, and a good programme of musical ar.d elocutionary items was given. The performing scholars could not complain cf a lack of vrarn'th in the way th e items were received. Admission was by coin, and the funds are to bo devoted to the sport 3 funds. About two guineas was received. After the break-up concert the children of Standards 111. and IV. held a party. Unfortunately rain came on and the entertainment planned for outdoors had to beheld in the school. Gaines were played with a will and there was no lack <if refreshments. On the call of the headmaster, hearty cheersi were given for Miss Balchelor, who organised the party.
