OLD COLONIST DEAD.
MRS H. ANDERSON. The death occurred recently of a very old resident of Canterbury, Mrs H. Anderson. The deceased lady was born at Perthshire, Scotland, 85 years ago, and shortly after her marriage left with her husband for New Zealand in tli3 sailing ship Victory, the voyage taking 120 days." Mr and Mrs Anderson landed at Lyttelton in 1859, and after residing * n Ohristchurch for some two years "took up an area of unimproved land at Yaldhurst. Their farm, known as On© Tree Farm, was occupied .by thorn until 1890, when they retired to reside in Clyde road. Fendalton, their sons taking over the farm. Four years later Mr Anderson purchased Mr J. Tosswill's farm" at Prebbleton. known as Woodlau, and worked the farm for several rears, when the sons took over. Mr and Mrs Anderson, however, continued to reside on the farm at Prebbleton until Mr Anderson's death in 1913. The property was sold later, and Mrs Anderson- then took Tip her residence at 25 Euston street, Rjccarton. where sue lived until her death, on inly 27th. Mrs Anderson is survived by a grown-up. family of sons and daughters.
