The British Government, accepting a legal decision, is paying out £2,000,000 to Post Office employees. The payment is described *as : the world's greatest Christmas box. The claim concerned payments during war sendees.

The headmaster of the Bradford (England) Grammar School has circularised parents, declaring that the less craze has caused a skimping, of home-work owing to boys being forced to work while the loud-speaker is in full blast. An expedition to explore the Valley, in the mandated territory o( New Guinea, for oil will leave Sydney shortly. Permission has been given to search over 1000 square miles of territory. It is expected that the expedition will last twelve months. It will be in wireless communication with Sydney all the time.
