Lloyd made the presentation. The Weather. The weather during the week-end was idea!. Yesterday morning broke fine, but earlv in the afternoon loud peals of thunder were heard. their origin being in the vicinity of the hills. A light shower was experienced about 3 p.m. General, The Ashburton Borough Council's new steam road roller has arrived, and it is understood that the week's free trial in terms of the contract will commence on Januarv sth. Although fishing was fair at Hakatere during the week-end, only comparatively small fish were secured. Anglers who visited the Eangitata mouth were more fortunate, however, for fish up to 101b in weight were landed. Mail Notices.
