CHORAL HALL.
MALINI, THiE MAGICIAN. Another audience was completely mystified last night by tlio illusions and "magic" of Malini, the Magician. Ho excelled especi&lly in card tricks and these were masterpieces in skilful manipulation. In otte such trick he was blindfolded and from a pack he held in hi* hand eight cards were extracted by the same number of people and then returned to the pack, only those who had selected them knowing what they were., The. pick with the cards face downwardsi waa then spread in a jumbled Up fashion on the surface of .a table, and as e&ch card was called by the party who had selected it, Mr Malini, .still blindfolded, would spear it with a pocket-knife and hold it up. Each card came tip true to designation. It was astonishing how in the jumble of cards on the tablo the performer could impale the correct one each time. The cards were all face downward and the performer waa blindfolded. Another good piece of work wae performed with a piece of rope, and was in reality a replica of the turban trick, the rope taking the place %>f the turban. The rope .jyae looped and & member of the audience cut the loop. Two volunteers each took aft end of ibe rope and Mr Malini had his hand over the middle, where the cut was made. On the. pope being stretched the hand -was removed -and the length of rope was found to be intact A black bag and an (<gg were employed in the production of another trick, aid from the empty .bag was drawn the egg. Another performance will be given by Malini in the Clioral Hall this evening. 1
